Hydrogravel
Decorative and practical - increases airiness. Hydrosora's honeycomb structure stores water and nutrients, reducing the need for watering, while providing excellent conditions for hydroponics and the best conditions for healthy, optimal growth.
This granulate, made from natural clay – without chemical fertilizers – has a strong structure and a very long life. Hydrosora also withstands Finnish frosts very well! When planting mulch plants, the product effectively reduces the problematic root rot often caused by too much moisture. Thanks to its beautiful color, Seramis Hydrosora can also be used as a decoration in pots.
Hydrogravel on the surface of the pot creates an optimal microclimate for plants. The moisture absorbed into the hydrogravel slowly evaporates around the plant. The plant in the picture has been planted in Palmuseramis and a layer of Hydrosora has been spread over it.
When the root system of a potted plant rises up due to strong growth or the plant's proportions are no longer correct, even after pruning, plant the plant in a larger pot. Spring is the time to change the pot.
Preparation
Take the plant out of the old pot. Remove dead root system and loose soil. Flush the new one Hydrogravel, to remove fine material before planting plants.
Planting
First, put a little Hydrosora on the bottom of the pot. Place the plant in the hydroponic pot on top of the clay granules. Fill the pot with Seramis Hydrosora. Place the plants in the lighting and temperature conditions they require.
Use in drainage
Remove the plant from the pot. Lightly remove the soil from the root ball. Remove the dead part of the root system and rinse the root ball in water. Cover the drainage hole of the pot with stones or pieces of the pot. Depending on the size of the tank, add 2–6 cm of Hydrosora as a drainage layer. Place the plant in the pot and cover the root ball completely with hydrogravel.
