When you grow rhubarb in the dark, you get sweet, crunchy and thin-skinned rhubarb, and quickly.
The rhubarb pot is used to hack the growth of the cold and damp north, perhaps the tastiest vegetable. In growing dark rhubarb, i.e. in the harvest, the rhizome's energy is forced into the rhubarb's stems.
The beautiful clay dome stands elegantly in the wind, keeping the rhubarb warm and, above all, preventing light from entering, so that sweeter and better rhubarb emerges even faster from the pitch darkness.
1. Choose a strong seedling in early spring.
2. Feed the rhubarb seedling with compost or bokashi soil, wool pellets, etc. Keep the soil moist, but not wet.
3. Cover the rosette with BioProffa's rhubarb pot as soon as it starts to emerge from the ground. Press the pot firmly into the ground so that light does not enter through the cracks. In cold weather, you can cover the pot with, for example, a wool blanket, leaf pulp, etc. to keep the heat.
4. Do not peek through the lid, especially with light. The point is that the rhubarb does not get any light at all.
5. The rhubarb develops into a thin, sweet and crispy skin.
6. Trim the stems when they are approx. 30-40cm. Make a wonderful rhubarb pie, jelly or jam.
The package contains detailed information on how to act, what the process is based on, and the history of the darkness in general.
A wonderful gift idea: a handsome clay pot in a beautiful package.
