Hedgehog house
Many wild animals are useful for humans and the environment in every way: They use insects and plant pests for food and thus restore the ecological balance of the garden.
Humans have strongly changed the living space of hedgehogs through their activities. Today, hedgehogs mostly live in the environment inhabited by humans, because they have better living conditions and more food there than in the current monocultures of the agricultural landscape.
However, gardens often lack shelters such as bushes, piles of leaves and twigs. A hedgehog house is a good way to provide hedgehogs with a place to spend the winter.
During the winter in the hedgehog house, the hedgehog is well protected from the effects of the weather and humidity. The labyrinth entrance prevents unwanted animals such as cats from entering. Hedgehogs can use the hedgehog house even after the end of winter hibernation. In this case, it serves as a daytime hiding place or a breeding place for chicks.
A natural garden provides an ideal habitat for hedgehogs, as they find food animals, shelters and nesting opportunities there. They use snails, ground beetles, larvae of moths and other insects, earthworms, pincer tails, centipedes and millipedes and spiders as food.
