The mat protects small (and larger) seedlings from dryness in an excellent way. The felted sheep wool greenhouse watering mat keeps the roots of the small seedlings just right moist.
Water the mat thoroughly and place the seedlings on the mat. Watering the seedlings is also easy and the moisture stays in the carpet and does not run off.
The roots of the seedlings cling to the carpet and do not want to let go. They get moisture and airiness from it. If you are replanting the seedlings in the soil/growing medium, use such "planting pots" that also land on the ground when planting. You can cut the "root part" of the watering can and plant it as is in the growing medium without disturbing the roots.
In addition, the mat placed on the floor of the greenhouse collects/absorbs excess water/moisture from the floor.
At the end of the season, the mat can be composted or used, for example, to improve the soil.
