The lid of the collection container has activated carbon filters that prevent the formation of odors. The tight lid prevents banana flies from entering the container.

Care: Hand wash with warm soapy water
Activated carbon filters can be cleaned a few times before changing to new ones. Dissolve the filters in soapy water for half an hour and shake off the solid dirt. Rinse, dry and put them back in the lid.
