Composting in Eurogarden

Why Compost?

Composting is an environmentally friendly way to reduce biowaste and convert it into nutrient-rich soil, which improves the quality of the soil and supports the well-being of plants. Eurogarden's BioProffa Biocollection container and Bokashi systems offer easy solutions for odorless biowaste processing.

BioProffa Bio collection container

The BioProffa Biocollection container is suitable for kitchen composting and is available in different sizes (4L, 5L, 7.5L). Its active carbon filter prevents odors from entering the environment, and the compact design makes it easy to place in the kitchen.

  • Advantages : Reduces mixed waste, environmentally friendly, several color options.
  • Care instructions : Outer container hand wash, 5L inner bucket machine washable.

Bokashi composting system

Bokashi composting uses efficient microorganisms (EM) to break down kitchen waste. The process consists of two steps:

  • Fermentation phase: The biowaste is added to an airtight container with the EM mixture and allowed to ferment for 2 weeks.
  • Post-composting: The acidified mass is mixed with soil in an outdoor composter, and within a few weeks it turns into nutrient-rich soil.

Composting tips

  • Drain the liquids : The liquid produced from bokashi can be used diluted as a plant nutrient.
  • Shred waste : Smaller pieces speed up composting.
